MIDI Systems were designed to allow electronic music generators control electronic sound generators.
These generators used to be combined in one unit … think of the good old electric organ !
Now, more commonly, we have a separate keyboard controlling an external expander (sound generator).
So you can buy an accordion that has already been MIDI’d in the maker’s workshop or have your own acoustic accordion professionally MIDI’d by myself !
I specialise on accordion MIDI installation, and the V3 Desktop expander has been purposely designed for this market to produce the right sounds for many small niche markets, eg German/Austrian Traditional sounds, Swiss, Scottish and Celtic, French with many more to come.
The V3 Desktop brings you the highest quality in sounds and innovative ideas like ‘ARTIST SOUND‘ to bring life and authenticity to your music.
The operating system gives you greater control to vary, layer and add effects for your live playing.
So, having an accordion MIDI’d simply means installing a MIDI interface that controls the expander.
There are other pages both here and on my blog that go into MIDI in much greater detail for those who have masochistic tendancies !
